RESOLUTION NO. 12 <br />SERIES 2021 <br />A RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING THE <br />LANDMARK DESIGNATION FOR A HISTORICAL RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY <br />LOCATED 301 SPRUCE STREET <br />WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the Louisville Historic Preservation <br />Commission (HPC) an application requesting a landmark eligibility determination for a <br />historical property located at 301 Spruce Street, legally described as the westerly 71.45' of <br />Lots 12-16, Block 5 of the Louisville Heights Addition; and <br />WHEREAS, the HPC have reviewed the application and found it to be in compliance <br />with Chapter 15.36 of the Louisville Municipal Code, including Section 15.36.050.A, <br />establishing criteria for landmark designation; and <br />WHEREAS, the HPC has held a properly noticed public hearing on the proposed <br />landmark application; and <br />WHEREAS, 301 Spruce Street (Thompson House) has architectural, social, <br />geographic significance because it exemplifies the cultural, political, economic, or social <br />heritage of the community considering its association with various Louisville families and <br />Louisville's mining heritage; and <br />WHEREAS, the HPC finds that these and other characteristics specific to the <br />Thompson House meet the significance criteria as described in Section 15.36.050.A of the <br />Louisville Municipal Code; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />1. The application to landmark 301 Spruce Street be approved for the following <br />reasons: <br />a. Architectural integrity of the structure has been largely maintained over <br />time. <br />b. Association with Louisville's heritage. <br />2. The Historic Preservation Commission recommends the City Council <br />approve the landmark incentive grant in the amount of $5,000. <br />3.
