Planning Commission
Meeting Minutes
September 9, 2021
Page 6of6
Commissioners Hoefner and Diehl agreed.
Ritchie asked for feedback on Tier 2 and Tier 3.
Brauneis stated that he was comfortable with the current proposal for those tiers.
Diehl stated that the argument was for future -proofing these developments and it was
cheaper to do the work at build. He asked if the state plan was to do 100% by 2050 then
shouldn't we be aiming higher.
Brauneis stated that the cheapest place to charge was at home without fees. He didn't
know that EV was needed at both ends of a commute.
Hoefner stated that Chair Brauneis's commute point was one argument for keeping the
numbers lower. He observed that it was also possible that the technology overall would
change to the point where charging at businesses was not relevant.
Diehl and Commissioner Howe agreed.
Brauneis made a motion and Hoefner offered a friendly amendment of a 10/10/50%
spread for Tier 1. Diehl seconded. Motion passed unanimously by voice vote.
COMMISSIONER COMMENTS
Commissioners expressed appreciation for Interim Director Ritchie taking over the
position.
STAFF COMMENTS
Ritchie shared information on the Old Town Overlay update and the Commission's
involvement.
COMMISSIONER COMMENTS
None.
ADJOURN
Diehl moved and Brauneis seconded a motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 7:55
PM.
Vice Chair Dietrich Hoefner
