Board of Adjustment
Meeting Minutes
August 18, 2021
Discussion by Board:
Stuart says that staff report was excellent and agrees with staff's conclusion that each
of the six criteria are met. He likes seeing the letters of support for the application as
well. He mentions that the one letter of refusal is not relevant to the proposal because
the board has no control over whether a two-story home can be built.
Hawksley agrees with Stuart's conclusion regarding the letter of refusal.
Milhaly mentions that contingent upon this proposal's approval, the board is not
allowing future property owners to go beyond this approval. He is in favor of approval.
Nakari agrees with the other board members findings.
Cooper agrees that all the criteria is met.
Motion is made by Cooper to approve 2321 Sunland St's request for a variance from
the Residential Estate (R-E) minimum front setback (Centennial Drive) of thirty feet to
allow a second -story addition on an existing first -story front setback of twenty-six feet
and ten inches. Motion is seconded by Stuart.
