cityof LOUISVILLE REVITALIZATION
Louisville COMMISSION
COLORADO • SINCE 1878
SUBJECT: MARSHALL FIRE BUSINESS SUPPORT
DATE: FEBRUARY 9, 2022
PRESENTED BY: MEGAN E. PIERCE, ECONOMIC VITALITY DIRECTOR
SUMMARY:
No residential or commercial structures within the Hwy 42 Urban Renewal Area were
directly affected by the December 30 Marshall Fire & Straight Line Winds. Two
commercial structures at 1116 and 1124 W Dillon Road were completely destroyed —
resulting in the loss of seven businesses. Businesses throughout the community were
impacted by closures due to lack of essential utilities from approximately December 30
through January 7. The majority of businesses, even in the commercial corridors near
the burn areas, were able to re -open on January 7 or shortly thereafter. Some
businesses, however, do remain closed to remediating burn, smoke, or ash damage.
Staff and other organizations are engaged in conversations about different means of
business support, which could include grant programs or marketing campaigns. Staff
will provide an update on these conversations to the LRC at the February 9 meeting.
ATTACHMENTS:
None.
Agenda Packet P. 11
