Seyle and approved by acclamation.
V. Public Comments:
Council Member Deb Fahey reported that she had just dropped off multiple books about the
history of Louisville, Superior, Broomfield, and the region.
VI. Trustee Informational Comments on Pertinent Items Not on the Agenda:
• N/A
VII. New Business
A. Little Free Library Memory Square Park
• The board discussed the relatively frequent damage and vandalism of the Little
Free Library (LFL) at the Memory Square Park. After being repaired earlier this
year, it was damaged again by having the door ripped off. The board discussed
whether it needs to be moved, removed, or left in place.
o In discussion, it was clear that it is in heavy use. It's very nice for parents
and the location is helpful. The board felt that this was sufficient reason
to keep it where it is located
o Board member West reported that the LFL at Community Park doesn't
retain hinges easily because of rot to the wood, but this doesn't appear to
be the case - the damage appears direct.
o Superior representative Skladzinski suggested that since this LFL was
originally an Eagle Scout project, a local Boy Scout Troop may want to
take on the task of maintaining the LFL.
■ Board member Dufrense agreed to reach out to local Boy Scout
troops on behalf of the library
■ Board member Lechner has been maintaining the LFL and agreed
to try to fix the current damage.
B. DEI Policy Review
a. Youth Services & Volunteer
• Staff member Owens reported on the updated policy following the requested
changes from the September meeting.
• Board member West moved to approve both policies, Board member Dufrense
seconded it, and the board voted to approve unanimously.
b. Computer and Internet Use & Collection Policy
• Staff member Owens reported on the proposed updated Computer Use &
Collection Policies
o Board member Dufrense asked whether there was a time limit to
computer use. Staff member Owens reported that the library staff do
enforce a time limit but it varies according to location.
