Call to Order - Chairperson Megan Valentine called the meeting to order at 7:03pm. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call was taken and the following members were present: <br />Board Members Present: Katy Brown, , Ruby Dickson, Sierra Ehlert, Austin <br />Lawrence, Charlie Light, Luc Polglaze, Nicole Polglaze, Hannah Tienken, Megan <br />Valentine <br />Board Members Absent: Megan Cousins, Samantha Webster (excused) <br />Staff Members Present: Kriska Daltonhurst, Peggy Jones, Mandy Perera, <br />Council Member Present: Frost Yarnell <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda - The agenda was approved by all members. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of Meeting Minutes - The minutes from the 1/8/09, 1/6/09 and 1/19/09 <br />meetings were approved as written <br /> <br />V. Public Comments - <br />Nicole told us about an art competition for youth and handed out pamphlets <br />Katelynn Johnson has resigned from the Y AB to become a lifeguard at the Rec. <br />Center. We thank her for her service and wish her well. We will elect a new <br />secretary at the March meeting. <br /> <br />VI. Poet-a-thon planning- reports from subcommittees <br />Katy- first application came in from Coal Creek <br />Mandy- we have two applications so far, both from elementary school students <br />Luc- has contacted Donna Humphrey from Monarch K-8 and awaiting reply <br />Has a contact on the Lafayette Y AB and has mentioned the Poet-a-thon to <br />them <br />Austin- met with Mr. Fels (Principal of LMS) last week and it was a very <br />productive meeting. Mr. Fels wants to put the LMS logo on <br />the letters and sponsor the event. We would need to fill out a proposal <br />and he will submit to give us funds for the event. <br />Mandy- we would not want to ostracize any other schools by only being <br />sponsored by one local school, but we could put the logo on all our LMS <br />applications and forms.
