<br /> <br />Youth Advisory Board <br /> <br />Work Session Summary <br />Poet-a- Thon Subcommittees <br /> <br />2/16/09 <br />Louisville Recreation & Senior Center <br />900 W. Via Appia <br />7:00 PM <br /> <br />Call to Order Austin Lawrence called the meeting to order at 7:09pm <br /> <br />Roll Call was taken and the following members were present: <br />Austin Lawrence, Hannah Tienken, Ruby Dickson, Sam Webster, Katy Brown, Megan Cousins <br />Excused members: Megan Valentine, Luc Polglaze, Nicole Polglaze <br />Unexcused members: Charlie Light, Sierra Ehlert <br />Staff present: Mandy Perera, Peggy Jones <br /> <br />Summary- <br /> <br />Austin has spoken to LMS and they will put the Poet-a-thon entry form in the school bulletin. <br />He will also see about doing donation boxes at the school for the backpack items. He has not <br />had a chance to contact the radio stations or Channel 9 but will do so before the March 5th <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Hannah has tried to contact the Daily Camera to get the event on the calendar, but needs to <br />follow up again. Don Atwood suggested contacting their theater critic- Mark Collins. <br /> <br />Ruby e-mailed Naropa, but needs to follow up. Don suggested she contact Lisa Trank or Ann <br />Waldman there in the Writing & Poets Department. <br /> <br />Sam is working on the press release and her contact with the Yellow Scene. She also found <br />out that Boulder's YOAB no longer does their radio show. <br /> <br />Katy got applications out to Coal Creek and will be setting up an appointment with LMS LA <br />teachers in the next 2 weeks. She will also follow up with the Louisville Cultural Council to do <br />a call for performers in the next 2 weeks. <br /> <br />Megan C was interviewed by the Louisville Times about the Poet-a-thon. She and Mandy <br />have a meeting this Wednesday with the Monarch High LA teachers. <br /> <br />Don also suggested contacting Gloria Shanstrom of the Colorado Theater Guild for a call for <br />performers.
