<br />Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />Apri/15, 2009 <br />Page 4 of 4 <br /> <br />. Decision whether to hire person to videotape program to show on Channel <br />8 if the speaker approves: motion accepted. <br />. The Commission discussed greeters, introducers, and refreshments for the <br />historical program. <br />. Approval of $100 honorarium for speaker - approved by members. <br />. Oral history project: an update was given on the purchase of the video <br />equipment. The Commission will thank Andy Horton at Mike's Camera for <br />providing a generous discount. Bridget has typed the notes from the oral <br />history workshop in 2008 to be used by volunteers working on the oral <br />history project. <br />. History Book Club - has one more meeting for the spring, and may <br />continue in the fall at members' request. <br />C. Events and Fundraising: June 6, Museum Open House during the Taste of <br />Louisville - volunteers needed for two shifts. <br />D. Membership: <br />. Renewals - over 80% received so far <br />. New members - 54 to date for year <br />. Business Sponsors - 12 of 21 have renewed. There are 7 new Business <br />Sponsors this year. All new and renewing Sponsors have received thank <br />you notes. <br />. Effort to call remaining nonrenewing members to be led by Dan Mellish with <br />the help of others at the meeting. <br />E. Volunteers: Sally Burlingame is expected to begin work on inviting Museum <br />volunteers to the May 16 volunteer appreciation brunch. <br />F. Public Relations: No one from committee attended budget meeting with City <br />Manager. <br />G. Now and Then Photo Project: Brian Chamberlin shared several photographs <br />that he took for this project based on historical Louisville photographs from the <br />Museum's collection. Mike Oliver is also working on this project. <br />H. Mine Marker Project with Historic Preservation Commission: no new <br />information. <br /> <br />XII. Chairperson's Report - 2009 Work Plan for August City Council Study Session <br />will be worked on by Meredyth, Bridget, and Dan. <br /> <br />XIII. Commission Comments - None. <br /> <br />XIV. Motion to Adjourn - The meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM. <br />
