June 9, 2009 To: Louisville Historical Commission From: Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator Activitv Report I attended the annual conference of the Colorado-Wyoming Association of Museums from May 7-10 in Estes Park. The conference had an attendance of about 140, and I was able to participate in sessions on such topics as museum visitor policies, disaster preparedness for museums, how to increase the diversity of museum visitors, and how to update a museum's logo and the look of its publications and other printed materials from a design perspective. I attended the April Volunteer Group meeting of the Association of Northern Front Range Museums at the Colorado Historical Society. The other officers of ANFRM and I distributed allotments of the newly designed and printed ANFRM directory to our members. Training for Museum volunteers who would like to be tour guides for the Tomeo House will take place at 9 AM on Saturday, June 20. Please contact me if you are interested in attending. The Museum will be closed on Wednesday, July 1 so that I may participate in the evaluation of candidates for the library director position, and on Saturday, July 4 due to it being a holiday. Historical Museum Correspondence & News Coveraqe The Summer 2009 issue of Boulder Magazine features an article about the Historical Museum and downtown Louisville. The title of the article is "Louisville's Historic Downtown: Lots to See and Do on Four Square Blocks" and it highlights the Jacoe Store and Tomeo House buildings, the Museum's mission, the World War II DVD, and the walking tour brochure, as well as drawing attention to other interesting things to do in Louisville.
