City Council
Study Session Summary
May 12, 2009
Boulder County representative asked - What is the best framework or method to
have a conversation with all communities? Staff and Council member responded
- Don't impose what others think on our community. It is important that the
county is listening. Consider the indirect implications for all citizens in the
County.

Council member comment - Cut thru traffic is significant if there is an
understanding of travel pattern through Louisville. How do people get to all of the
rail stations? Fewer stations have an impact on communities also. Internal travel
and accessing the regional system is the commonality that can be tapped into.
The County would like to return in the summer to speak on the Louisville agenda,
and pass on information to the planning commission. Businesses need to be
able to move goods and services in an economical way. Possibly frame a
question - What are the freight transportation needs in the county? What role
will this take in the County's future? Goods and freight transportation are
essential to the economy.

City Manager's Report

1. Cart Delivery for trash service will start this week
2. Working on a provision for vacant houses who do not need trash service
3. Questions for opting out of the program - look at expansion of rebate for
low income residents. Will address relatively few people, and address
some isolated incidences.
4. Rumor - ConocoPhillips merging with another company and not being on
the site. There is a shareholders meeting tomorrow. Don't expect
momentous announcements.

Review of Advance Agenda.

Adjourn - 9:02 p.m.

Submitted by Rhonda Welborn
May 19, 2009
