Mayor Meier Councilwoman Morris Mayor Meier Councilman Leary Ditch AMENDMENT TO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES November 3, 1983 Page 7 - Discussion Commented that through discussion with staff, staff has similiar concerns with Parcel B and in other areas, but presently did not have all these and other alterna- tives worked out with Mr. Alshuler. Stated she would like to hear some possibilities regarding her concerns and whether or not we can surmount some of these obstacles. Felt that right now we are very, very far apart and in good conscience could not vote yes for this ordinance to go to a public hearing. Needed to hear proposals, possibilities, etc. Commented one of the possibilities would be that Parcel B be dropped down over the hill, and to limit it to i.e. limit the building heighth equal to but no greater than any building presently on the mesa. Councilwoman Morris remarked this may mini- mize the impact and visual impact, but did not effect the fact that it is our open space. Mayor Meier felt that after alternatives and details had been worked out of what the City and staff would hope to propose to Council and Mr. Al- shuler the concerns would be addressed. Stated that he had spoken with Director Rupp and staff had taken a look at what Council had made comments on as to the corporate user on Par- cel B and try to get several different al- ternatives as to how that could be handled, i.e. a different placement of that parcel to alleviate the concern that it is now. Inquired - what is the future outlook for the ditch? Administrator Wurl advised we will always have to have it - ultimately it will be piped and need to check to see if it would have to follow the same line; didn't think there was much flexibility. Administrator Wurl felt that it could be adjusted some- how as it was very deep in locations where it might not be so easily filled with pipe.
