Janet Roberts, President of the Board of Directors of ~he Boulder County Health AUDIENCE COMMENTS Dan Crnkovich - Gary Lucy 10/4/83 Page -7- to her letter sent to councilmembers a month ago requesting funding from the City of Louisville to contribute to their budget. In the past several years they have lost a lot of Federal funds and for the fiscal year for 1984 they have zero Federal funds. Their public funding has increased by .6% during the past year and it is difficult to run a business with this type of increase. At the same time their out-patient contacts had increased by 19%, and the total number of clients served increased by 10%. A lot of the increase was in the Plains area because they had placed a special emphasis on in- creasing services to the people in Longmont, Louisville, Lafayette They do serve a sig- nifcant number of people here and they are helped by the provision of the County Services office. Would be able to provide more services in Louisville if they could have more funding from the City. As a community mental health center, they are mandated to have a Board of Directors which is Center broadly represented in the County both geo- graphically and in terms of ethnic and social, economic,and various kinds of groupings. Had always had a board member from Louisville, however not now - a recent past president was a Louisville resident but had to resign be- cause his job opportunities took him out of the County. Speaking for the Board of Directors wished to support very strongly Ms. Norton's request as their Executive Director for some help from the City of Louisville. Stated that she had served on the Boulder City Council in the 1960's and 1970's and appreciated very much the constraints on council's decision making. Dan Crnkovich and Gary Lucy expressed their concern regarding the gentleman who operates an automobile repair shop known as Pre- cision Automotive at 2422 Evens Avenue and provided Mayor and councilmembers with a peition signed by 9 people which was sent to Chief Building Inspector Ferris on July 13, 1983. Mr. Lucy stated the repair shop has been in operation for over 2 years and felt that the business was an obvious violation of the zoning ordinances of the City.
