All in favor. Motion
carried unanimously.

Mayor and councilmembers had a copy of the
proposal by the homeowners as well as a memo
from Director of Community Services Hioco.

Four years ago when the residents moved into
the Hillsborough West subdivsion they were
told by the developer, a park would be provided
for them. To date the park has not been con-
structed; therefore she and Debbie Singer
sought the procedure for getting a park in the
area, and spoke with Director Hioco and Admin-
istrator Wurl. They met with Hioco and developed
a proposed plan for a future park. She and
Mrs. Singer, along with 25 volunteers showed
the proposed park plan to the homeowners in the
subdivision; estimated cost $12,000 - $15,000.
During this canvass of the neighborhood they
explored the possibility of money pledges to
install some equipment for the park. Their
request from Council was some fencing and sand
for the playground. 207 homeowners favored the
concept and 102 couples are willing to work
on the park. They have raised in pledges over
$1,686.00. A number of the homeowners in the
area are willing to volunteer their services
to get the project started. Playground equip-
ment is their first priority then plan to add
something additional each year.

Wished to stress - this is a community type
project. There are a lot of people in the
area that have not only donated money in pledges
but are willing to donate their time and energy.
A Contractor in the area is willing to build
some picnic tables; a lady that does landscaping
