PUBLIC HEARING DATE SET

NOVEMBER 2ND COUNCIL
MEETING - RESCHEDULE

RESCHEDULED TO NOV. 3, 1982

1983 PROPOSED BUDGET -
PUBLIC HEARING

10/5/82

Page -2-

Councilwoman Morris moved, Councilman Cussen
seconded that the American Legion Special
Events applications for Noveber 6, December
3, December 11, and December 31, 1982 be ac-
cepted and a public hearing be set for October
19, 1982. Question called for. All in favor.
Motion carried unanimously.

Mayor Meier advised since this is the date
of the General Election, he suggested the
council meeting be rescheduled for November
3, 1982.

Councilman Fauson moved, Councilman Cussen
seconded that the first meeting in November
be rescheduled to November 3, 1982. Question
called for. All in favor. Motion carried
unanimously.

Mayor Meier opened the public hearing.
Administrator Wurl advised that the budget
was submitted based on the discussions held
during the numerous study sessions of city
council. Two options had been added after
discussion with the County Assessor and a
review of the City's assessed valuation
relative to the personal property figure
regarding the 7% limitation. That differ-
ence did provide for additional revenue of
$27,000.00. One option was to reduce the
transfers by $27,000.00; the other was to
reduce transfers by $7,000.00 and add $20,000.00
to the budget thereby eliminating the necessity
of reducing our work force by 2 people.
The budget as submitted provided for a total
of $1,998.985.00 for the general fund plus
the other funds for a total of $4,868,084.00.
The mill levy that is permitted under the
7% limitation is 7.016 for general operating
expenses and .6 mills for to defray expenses
of the General Obligation Recreation Bond
for the pool, which is the last year and
the pool will be repaid. One item provided
for, but not officially addressed was the
City Administrator's salary.
Administrator Wurl advised that the public
hearing notices were published in the Louisville
Times for both the 1983 budget and the Revenue
Sharing funds.
