City Council Minutes

Nuclear War
Education, Cont....

MAYOR's PROCLAMATION
MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS
WEEK

PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE
NOT APPEARING ON
THE AGENDA:

CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT
ORDINANCE #769, SUB-
DIVISION & ZONING CODE
CHANGES

MORRIS:

August 3, 1982

Page 9

Motion by Leary to donate $100 from the City
of Louisville to the Boulder County Nuclear War
Education Committee. Seconded by Morris.
Roll call vote ::Meier no, Leary yies, Cussen
yes, Morris yes, Ferrera no, Fauson no. 3-3
vote. Motion defeated.

Mayor read the proclamation in its entirety, and
therefore declared the Week of Sunday, August
8th through Saturday, August 14, 1982, as Multiple
Sclerosis Awareness Week.

Peter Guass, 1125 Main St. Commented on the
Nuclear issue just discussed. The Council in
its vote prevented the public from getting in-
formation to the people. This is vital to be
informed, and the comments from Mr. Ferrera
seemed off-hand and should have been studied in
further detail, and Mr. Ferrera did a disservice
to the citizens. of Louisville with his type
of statements.

Debbie Singer, 1470 Kennedy Avenue. How can it
be stated it is a county obligation to fund a
booklet of this type; it is the obligation of
every American citizen to avoid a nuclear war.

Dennis Ferrera: stated the evidence presented
in the booklet (ie) results of radiation, is
inconclusive and is not presented this way
in this document.

Rautenstraus read Ordinance #769 by title only.

Leary requested a brief rundown on the changes.
Rautenstraus stated nothing has really changed
as far as responsibility, but to clarify respansi-
ib1ity relative to review of plans and projects,
after approval but not yet complete. Also pro-
viding for a minor subdivisinon process of four
or less residential units be ra~uired to one
hearing rather than the two public hearings.
Height change in the office zone was noted; also
notice requirements to property owners change.

Requested clarification specifically on commercial
and office zoning, notification of property owners
limit, the phrase "time to time", wording of
"i11ustration and not 1imitation". Rautenstraus
explained each of these items. Motion by Morris:

Page 2, Sedtion B: Do not allow commercial uses
in residential district. Second by Leary.
Discussion between staff and council members
followed.
