LAFAYETTE CITY COUNCIL - JOINT
MEETING

LOUISVILLE CHAMBER OF
COMMERCE - DUES OR DONATION

MOTION TO DONATE $500.00

Councilman Leary

Councilman Cussen

Mayor Meier

Councilman Cussen

MEDICAL CENTER - PLANNING
""'EETING

7/20/82

Page -10-

Director Rupp had provided councilmembers
with a suggested agreement between the
Cities of Louisville and Lafayette and
to date Lafayette had not replied

Administrator Wurl advised $1,000.00 would
be available from the General Fund, if
Council so desired.

Councilman Lea.ry moved, Councilwoman Morris
seconded that Council give a $500.00 grant
to the Louisville Chamber of Cormnerce pur-
suant to the conditions that were outlined
in the letter Council had received from them
for the request.

The reason for his motion was that the money
may be in the General Fund but felt that
it may have been transferred into the General
Fund that was primarily intended for water
maintenance projects, etc. It was his opin-
ion that a fiscal position must become a
high priority for this Council.

Inquired if the $500 grant would defray
the costs of the maps of the City which
the Chamber of Cormnerce had proposed to
be printed.
Administrator Wurl advised it was his opin-
ion the cost of the maps would be $425.00.

Felt that the $1,000.00 figure was requested
by the Chamber as this was the one most big
companies were donating as their share.

Inquired if the $500 grant would be for what
period of time i.e. on a yearly basis.
Mayor Meier felt this would be on a yearly
basis but if the Chamber had a project that
would be to the benefit of the general public
they would come back to Council and request
more funding.

Question called for on the motion. All in
favor. Motion carried unanimously.

Mr. Wurl advised he was unable to contact
Art Tanner; but the Lafayette Planner advised
that the Planning Cormnission will consider,
next Monday, the petition to annex the outdoor
theater property for the Medical Center.
Wurl to make arrangements to set up a date
for the meeting when Tanner returns.
