Roll call vote: <br />Cussen Yes <br />Morris Yes <br />Cummings Yes <br />Leary Yes <br />Ferrera Yes <br />Fauson Yes <br />Meier Yes <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Each counci1member had a copy of the ord- <br />inance before them. <br />Attorney Rautenstraus read the ordinance <br />by title only and the request was for <br />Council's authorization to publish it. <br /> <br />Councilman Leary moved, Councilwoman Morris <br />seconded Ordinance #767 - Video Games be <br />delayed until more information is received. <br /> <br />Wished to review what other cities have <br />done, the problems they have encountered <br />with this type or ordinance; questioned <br />some of the itlems in the ordinance. Stated <br />he would like to know how lucrative a busi- <br />ness video games are perhaps $25.00 was not <br />a sufficient fee or perhaps it was too much. <br />Commented he read in the paper that Lakewood <br />had passed a fairly strict simi1iar ordinance, <br />had portions of it overthrown in the Court, <br />so he felt that other things in addition to <br />a certain distance from a school, a church, <br />park, L e. if they are a certain size should <br />they be required to have supervision on the site. <br /> <br />Concurred with Councilman Leary's comments, <br />but felt the ordinance as presented should <br />be incorporated in the revised one. <br /> <br />Concurred with Councilmen Leary and Fauson <br />that more information should be obtained; <br />also would request a public hearing be held <br />to obtain citizens' reactions. Was curious <br />how the $25.00 fee was determined; and in.- <br />quired why "a listing of any prior criminal <br />convictionsqof the applicant was placed in <br />the ordinance.
