Councilman Leary Councilman Leary Councilman Cussen ACCEPTANCE OF CHAMBER OF COMMERCE LETTER AS AN AGREEMENT Councilman Leary Dennis Drumm CHESTNUT REQUEST - REQUEST FOR LEAVE OF ABSENCE AUDIENCE COMMENTS 6/15/82 Page -5- Requested that the City grant money be specified in the audit that the expenditures were tied to that money so that the City could have assurances that it wasn't being spent for other organizational purposes. Drumm stated this could be made readily available to the City, and as clarification for Councilwoman Morris stated that the City is now a member of the Chamber of Commerce. Wished to clarify the statement in the letter that stated he or she cannot support the Chamber - he felt that all members supported the Chamber but were not dues paying members. Wished clarification if the amount to be contributed would be a separate item. Mayor Meier advised that it would be. seconded Councilman Cussen moved, Councilman Cummings / that the letter from the Louisville Chamber of Commerce be accepted as an agreement ,with the word change in item 2 of "dues" to grant. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Meier suggested council discuss the amount of grant to be given the Chamber. Stated that the General Fund showed a deficit balance presently and was reluctant to make a commitment. Administrator Wurl to give the status of this fund at the next meeting. In answer to Councilwoman Morris' inquiry stated 600 maps were printed at a cost of approximately $5,000.00, and stated perhaps their entire/this year would go for printing. budget Councilman Fauson moved, Councilman Leary seconded that Laurie Chestnut be granted an additional 6-week leave of absence as recommended by the Director of Public Safety. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. None.
