Councilman Leary Councilman Cussen Councilwoman Morris ROLL CALL VOTE 'ON MOTION TO BECOME MEMBER OF CHAMBER Mayor Meier 5/4/82 Page ~ll- Commented he was in favor of tabling the entire issue until next meeting, as he wished to think about it more. It was his opinion there might be several options available to the City. He was also con- cerned about the issues it might raise in terms of potential conflicts or dis- agreements of what type of precedence we are setting in terms of all other organizations. Perhaps he would be in favor of the City making a donation, or being an associate member, but was not comfortable making a decision this evening. He stated that he would vote against the motion, and if defeated, would move to table the entire issue and bring it up at the next meeting. Commented he agreed with Councilman Leary as to what the ramifications would be and would like to have more thought on the issue. He too was in favor of, Utblino: the item till next . <:> meet~ng. Remarked she also had some concerns, her tendency was to go with the Chamber. She felt it ~7as important for the City to have a good working relationship with the Chamber of Commerce. She also stated she was not certain what the role of the City was re- lative to the Chamber. Councilwoman Morris commended Mr. Drumm on his letter by stating they were actively promoting the CTC project. She was wondering if they would welcome Neodata to go there instead of the Mesa. Roll call vote on the motion. YES: Meier, Fauson, Ferrera, Cummings NO: Leary, Cussen, Morris Motion carried 4-3. Requested council deal with the dues or assessments the City wishes to pay to the Chamber at the next regular meeting - May 18, 1982, Mr, DruTIUI1_if Council wished to discuss this with Chamber members prior to the next meet- ing, they would be happy to do so.
