Page - 7 -

Mayor Meier

But they are not required to by our Code.

Attorney Rautenstraus

Right, that is correct.

Mayor Meier

We are actually asking for variation from that
contract not necessarily from the code.

Attorney Rautenstraus That is correct, we are not requesting any change
from our standard way - any change in the code - simply an
amendment to the annexation agreement. I think the amendment
would be worded to go ahead and require them to subdivide
the described property under the procedures of Chapter 16 -
Louisville Municipal Code; however, building permits may be
issued during the subdivision process, under the Code.

Councilman Leary I reaffirm Mr. Edmonds statement regarding the
asphalt jungle, and I would just urge the applicants or
the developers to really look at that parking. I know that -
I don't agree with that philosophy of going the number of units
that the number of parking spaces for the number of employees.
In the companies around the country that have taken money
that they would have normally spent building parking lots
and put it into incentive programs for people who are car-
pooling have found that they are financially much better off
in doing that.
