In terms of mining they
centered on the major element in energy
production in this region which is oil
shale. The different assumptions regard-
ing western slope oil shale production
in the state of Colorado range from 1,855,000
barrels a day to 400,000 barrels a day, and
the increased population working will not
be in the Denver region. In productivity
a return after 1985 to a growth rate of
approximately 2% per year was projected.
Mr. Gebhardt stated migration had always
been the dominant factor in this region
in terms of population growth since 1940,
approximately ~ population growth.
