12/1/81 Page -2- Mr. Tennessen advised that their Company would repair all damages they have caused with the installation of underground cable~. either to property owners or city property. Ten-perclent has been withheld from their contractor to cover this type expense. He apologized for the delays and requested council consider a trade-off for the delay. He advised that two additional satellites have been added to their system, increasing the numbler of channels to 52 and the City would receive this service without an additional rate. Mr. Tennessen stated he was aware the deadline for completion was November 30, 1981 and requested council to add an additional two weeks for the completion date. Councilman Meier Inquired if his crew had been working on Saturdays and Sundays as well as overtime to meet the 11/30/81 deadline. Tennessen advised that they had been, crews from other areas had been brought in, etc. Councilman Meier inquired what "novel re- quirements" were requested by the inspector. The power company required concrete filled metal posts around each power supply. Councilman Meier stated this as an advantage on curb sides, detering drivers from knocking them over. Councilman Meier inquired if the phone and power companies had caused the major delays. Tennessen advised that in March the plans had been given to these companies. The telephone company required a pole permit which took approximately 4 months - now this is being accomplished in about 3 weeks. Their crews were working in the mountain areas and weren't able to service our area until the first week of September. Councilm.an Heier stated that it was his opinion that the Company had made a good- faith effort and was in favor or granting an extension. Councilman Brown Asked if Storer TV had other commitments other than Louisville.
