Parks and Public Landscaping Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Thursday, March 3, 2022 <br />Meeting Held Electronically <br />7 PM <br />1. Roll Call: PPLAB members present: Ellen Toon, Shelly Alm, Laurie Harford, Shannon Mihally, John <br />Webb, Patricia Rogers and Stephen Knapp ; Lisa Norgard, Chair of Recreation Advisory Board, <br />Dean Johnson, Superintendent of Parks, Ember Brignull, acting Deputy Director of Parks and <br />Open Space <br />2. Approval of Agenda: Agenda approved <br />3. Approval of Minutes: Minutes approved <br />4. Staff Updates <br />• City announced that in person meetings will begin. April PPLAB meeting will be in <br />person <br />• Parks Maintenance Management Plan: City has sent a survey out to PPLAB and City <br />Council <br />• Admin position was just filled. Welcome Jan Branham <br />• Damage assessments, spring/summer operations planning is under way <br />5. Board Updates <br />• None <br />6. Public Comments on Items Not on Agenda <br />• None <br />7. Update and Discussion on Park Scorecard <br />• A few parks left to score, scorecard will be used in the upcoming parks management <br />plan <br />• Shannon, Shelly and John offered to score the remaining parks <br />8. Finalize Discussion on Recommendations for Capital Improvement Projects <br />• Rating of Capital Project Priorities <br />• Discussion around Park Project Suggestions for 2023 and 2024 <br />i. Lisa from the Rec Board noted that the tennis courts and pickleball are in <br />alignment with Rec Board recommendations <br />ii. Signage (Parks Rules, Wayfinding signs) originally slated for 2022 may be pushed <br />to 2023/2024 <br />iii. Marshall Fire recovery, disaster recovery money in flux and its impact on <br />currently planned projects could impact the suggestions list and PPLAB's <br />recommendations <br />iv. Focus priorities may be best spent on the highest need in terms of <br />maintenance/repair. Keep an eye on rising costs for future plans and monies <br />available now <br />I% <br />
