Dear City Manager Jeffrey Durbin, Deputy City Manager Megan Davis, Acting Deputy Director
of Parks and Open Space Ember Brignull, Parks Superintendent Dean Johnson, and members of
the Louisville City Council,
The Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board writes you today regarding the hiring of a new
Director of Parks and Open Space. The Board recommends that you seriously consider each
candidate's capacity and enthusiasm for making environmental sustainability a focus of the
Department of Parks and Open Space. The Board believes that the Department of Parks and
Open Space can play an integral role in achieving the City's sustainability goals as enunciated in
the City's Sustainability Action Plan. The Board believes further that now more than ever the
City must make great strides towards achieving these goals.
Thank you for considering our recommendation.
Best regard,
The Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board
