LCityof <br />Louisville <br />City Manager's Office <br />Memorandum <br />To: Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board <br />From: Kayla Betzold, Sustainability Coordinator <br />Date: May 18, 2022 <br />Re: Staff Updates <br />Bike, Walk, Wheel Week <br />• Bike, Walk, Wheel Week will be June 19 — 25, 2022 and will be a collaboration with the Town of <br />Superior and City of Lafayette, highlighting active transportation opportunities. <br />Green Business Program <br />• Louisville/Lafayette PACE fellow, Jenn Dingman, began in late April. Jenn will assist both cities in <br />administering and expanding their Green Business Programs in 2022. <br />• Fellow will focus on alignment with Lafayette's program, increasing participation and <br />highlighting the work of existing participants. <br />Building Code Phase 2 <br />• Phase 2 of Louisville's building code update has begun, with consultants Lotus Sustainability <br />and Engineering and Group 14. <br />• Phase 2 will consider the Commercial net zero code and all -electric residential and commercial <br />codes, along with cost, affordable housing and equity impacts. <br />• A community public engagement process will begin mid -June with a community survey and two <br />community meetings, along with a presentation to LSAB at the July meeting. <br />Disposable Bag Tax Implementation — LouisvilleCO.gov/BagTax <br />• As of May 4, 76 bag tax returns have been received (out of 208 licensed bag taxpayers) totaling <br />$40,845.44. <br />• The City's Sales Tax department is leading business compliance efforts. <br />• Remittance that exceeds administrative costs can be allocated for sustainability programs. <br />1 <br />
