Revitalization Commission
Minutes
May 11, 2022
Chair Adler introduced new commissioner Clif Harald. Commissioner Harald said he
has extensive background in economic development and sustainable economic
vitality. Councilmember Leh and Commissioners welcomed Clif.
Councilmember Leh said Council cannot be a part of Redtail Ridge discussions as this
is a quasi judicial matter. Council looks forward to upcoming visioning session and
discussing areas of joint interest.
Facade Improvement Program Outreach
Director Pierce noted the URA map has been updated with Commissioner names
representing each zone for fagade improvement outreach. EV Specialist Brown has
been meeting with businesses and is available to meet with Commissioners who
would like assistance regarding outreach. Commissioner Harald may be able to help
with Lexi's area while she is out on maternity. Staff continues to receive new interest
and program applications.
Business Matters of Commission:
• Facade Improvement Program Application: 12Degree Brewing (a-)- 820 Main
Street
EV Specialist Brown reviewed the 12Degree Brewing application with the LRC.
The application is complete, and staff determined the request could be
approved administratively without Historic Preservation Commission (HPC)
subcommittee review. The cost of improvements is $9,500 which would be
100% reimbursable by the program. Proposed improvements include:
o Replace outdoor wooden bench seating area;
o Install new blade sign; and
o Restore damaged concrete at entrance.
Staff recommends approval of the application. Commissioner Smith asked if,
due to market conditions, we would like to budget an additional 10% in
contingency. Director Pierce said the agreement provides some flexibility. For
instance, if the project is under $15,000 it is reimbursable at 100%. If cost
increases bump an applicant into the next level, staff will alert the LRC.
Chair Adler called for public comment. At this time the outreach materials are
not available in language other than English. There was a suggestion to
Agenda Packet P. 4
