RESOLUTION NO.25 <br />SERIES 2022 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT <br />REGARDING THE BOULDER COUNTY REGION OPIOID COUNCIL <br />WHEREAS, the City is party, as a "Participating Local Government," to the Colorado <br />Opioids Settlement Memorandum of Understanding ("Colorado MOU"), which established the <br />manner in which opioid settlement funds are distributed throughout the State of Colorado, including <br />the manner in which funds are distributed by the State -established "Abatement Council" among the <br />various "Regions" established under the Colorado MOU; and <br />WHEREAS, under the Colorado MOU, the City of Louisville is included in Region 6 (the <br />"Region"), the boundaries of which are coterminous with the boundaries of Boulder County; and <br />WHEREAS, there has been prepared an Intergovernmental Agreement ("Agreement") <br />establishing the Boulder County Region Opioid Council ("BCROC"), which will consist of <br />representatives appointed by the Boulder County and participating municipalities; and <br />WHEREAS, the Agreement further establishes the procedures by which the BCROC may <br />request opioid funds from the Abatement Council, and the procedures by which the BCROC will <br />allocate the Region's share of opioid funds within the Region; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to approve the Agreement by this Resolution. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />Section 1. The Boulder County Region Opioid Council Intergovernmental Agreement <br />("Agreement"), by and among the County of Boulder, City of Boulder, Town of Erie, Town of <br />Jamestown, City of Lafayette, City of Longmont, City of Louisville, Town of Lyons, Town of <br />Nederland, City of Superior, and the Town of Ward, a copy of which Agreement accompanies this <br />Resolution, is hereby approved. <br />Section 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the Agreement, <br />and the Mayor is hereby further authorized to negotiate and approve such revisions to the <br />Agreement as the Mayor determines are necessary or desirable for the protection of the City, so long <br />as the essential terms and conditions of the Agreement are not altered. <br />
