LCityof <br />Louisville <br />City Manager's Office <br />Memorandum <br />To: Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board <br />From: Kayla Betzold, Sustainability Coordinator <br />Date: July 20, 2022 <br />Re: Staff Updates <br />Building Code Phase 2 <br />• The second community meeting will be held on Thursday, July 28 from 11:30 A.M. — 1:30 P.M. <br />at the Louisville Recreation and Senior Center. Developers, business owners and residents are <br />encouraged to attend to learn more about the project and ask questions about policy <br />considerations. <br />• A community survey is available on the Engage Louisville page - <br />https://www.engagelouisvilleco.org/energycodeupdate. <br />The first Council meeting is scheduled for September 6. The first ordinance reading is scheduled <br />for September 20. The second ordinance reading is scheduled for October 3. <br />Marshall Fire Recovery <br />• The second residential rebuilding workshop was held on July 13 at the Louisville Rec Center. <br />Speakers shared information about the equipment required to earn the $10,000 electrification <br />incentive from the Colorado Energy Office, including air source and ground source heat pumps <br />for space heating, heat pump hot water heaters and induction cooking. <br />• There is one additional in person workshop scheduled for August 3, which will screen the <br />recently published Rocky Mountain PBS documentary highlighting passive house rebuilding and <br />will include a panel of speakers featured in the documentary. <br />https://bit.ly/RebuildAugust22 <br />Events and Programs <br />• Eco-tober event planning is underway — Louisville is responsible for entertainment. Please send <br />ideas to Kayla. Louisville will be contributing—$1,500 to the event, which will cover the <br />entertainment and potentially electronics recycling in collaboration with Eco-Cycle. <br />
