Our commitment to the delivery of <br />basic services to the residents of Louisville while maintaining the City's fiscally sound policies has <br />been addressed in this budget. <br />Council Goals <br />The Council Goals set the basis for the budget direction. These goals have been addressed in the <br />1997 Budget as follows: <br />A. As a result of the approved Tabor Ballot Question, granting a revenue change for sales <br />and use tax revenue/expenditure limitations, the 1997 budget includes projects identified <br />by the City Council to be funded from these specific sources. These projects and funding <br />are: <br />1. Additional open space acquisition and maintenance <br />• Add a full-time Parks Maintenance Technician to the general fund <br />Trees and Shrubs budget, $33,703. <br />• Add four seasonal employees for park and open space maintenance <br />to the general fund Parks and Open Space budget, $21,760. <br />• Increase contractual services for trees and shrubs in the general <br />fund Trees and Shrubs budget, $28,500. <br />2. Neighborhood and gateway beautification projects included as new items in <br />the capital projects fund <br />• Landscape improvements, $150,000. <br />• Gateway improvement, $125,000. <br />• Median improvement, $35,000. <br />• Landscape master plan, $25,000. <br />3.
