Water Fund Charges for Services <br />Users Fees - Water utility fees are <br />derived from the sale of potable water <br />to residential, commercial, and <br />industrial customer classes. Water <br />revenues included in the budget are <br />estimated at a 10.9% increase for <br />customer growth and new <br />development. For fiscal year 1997 <br />user fees (Unclassified, Commercial, <br />Residential, Delinquent, Water Lease <br />and Water Resource User Fees) are <br />projected at $2,980,219. <br />Assessment Fees - Each water user <br />within the City of Louisville is <br />assessed a fee of $6.65 per month <br />per unit. These fees are for bond <br />principal and interest payments. For <br />fiscal year 1997, assessment fees are <br />budgeted at $587,022. <br />Water Taps - Water tap fees are <br />based on approximately 44 single <br />family equivalents (tap fees $8,175) <br />as well as commercial development. <br />Total water tap fees for fiscal year <br />1997 are budgeted at $664,200. Tap <br />fees are used to finance capital <br />projects, capital equipment and debt <br />service payments of the water fund. <br />Miscellaneous <br />Interest Earnings - Interest earnings <br />results from deposits of cash. Interest <br />earnings are estimated based on <br />1997 revenues and 1997 beginning <br />and ending balances. Total interest <br />earnings budgeted for fiscal year <br />1997 are $204,000. <br />Interest Earnings - Reserved - In <br />1996 a reserved investment was <br />created to earmark funds for the 1998 <br />call date on the 1989 General <br />Obligation Water Bond. The interest <br />earned is also reserved for this <br />purpose. $200,000. <br />Contributions - As water lines are <br />extended to the South -Sub area it is <br />anticipated that $114,000 will be <br />received as Developer Contributions. <br />63 <br />
