5/19/81 Page -3- Councilman Cummings Noted the persons with PHD degrees and expertise - inquired if they were strictly advisory or will they actually analyze the material. Mr. Spens:ley advised they are advisory to the commi.ttee, but are also technical advisors for doing the evaluation. Inquired if this was an ongoing study or would it be ended at a given time. Mr. Spens:ley replied this was a one-time study - finalization the summer of 1982. Councilman Fauson Councilman Meier Expressed his desire to keep the councils infonned in the area of the various alternatives that are proposed for Rocky Flats as it would effect our growth. He suggested that written reports be provided as it would have a serious economic impact on persons in this area. Mr. Spensley reported their con~ittee intended to distribute the evaluation of the study to the local elected officials, as well as make it available in the public libraries. DONALD KAHAN - UPDATE OF CENTENNIAL VALLEY MALL Councilman Meier then inquired if there would be a draft made available to the mem- bers of council so that they could comment on the study. Mr. Spensley replied that it was a 3~ million dollar study, with various elements, i.e. earthquakes within the area, structure of the buildings, kinds of accidents that might occur, what exposurers would result, how to group the various activites and relocate them, and other alternatives. Three phases of the study have been completed and copies are available for comment - 1. Generic Site Criteria 2. Structural Integrity of the Buildings especially the plutonium buildings - could they withstand 120 MPH winds, tornadoes, etc. 3. Vital Equipment Study.
