<br />5/19/81 <br /> <br />Page -3- <br /> <br />Councilman Cummings <br /> <br />Noted the persons with PHD degrees and <br />expertise - inquired if they were strictly <br />advisory or will they actually analyze the <br />material. <br />Mr. Spens:ley advised they are advisory to <br />the commi.ttee, but are also technical advisors <br />for doing the evaluation. <br /> <br />Inquired if this was an ongoing study or <br />would it be ended at a given time. <br />Mr. Spens:ley replied this was a one-time <br />study - finalization the summer of 1982. <br /> <br />Councilman Fauson <br /> <br />Councilman Meier <br /> <br />Expressed his desire to keep the councils infonned <br />in the area of the various alternatives <br />that are proposed for Rocky Flats as it <br />would effect our growth. He suggested that <br />written reports be provided as it would have <br />a serious economic impact on persons in this <br />area. <br />Mr. Spensley reported their con~ittee intended <br />to distribute the evaluation of the study <br />to the local elected officials, as well as <br />make it available in the public libraries. <br /> <br />DONALD KAHAN - UPDATE OF <br />CENTENNIAL VALLEY MALL <br /> <br />Councilman Meier then inquired if there <br />would be a draft made available to the mem- <br />bers of council so that they could comment <br />on the study. <br />Mr. Spensley replied that it was a 3~ million <br />dollar study, with various elements, i.e. <br />earthquakes within the area, structure of <br />the buildings, kinds of accidents that might <br />occur, what exposurers would result, how <br />to group the various activites and relocate <br />them, and other alternatives. Three phases <br />of the study have been completed and copies <br />are available for comment - 1. Generic Site <br />Criteria 2. Structural Integrity of the <br />Buildings especially the plutonium buildings - <br />could they withstand 120 MPH winds, tornadoes, <br />etc. 3. Vital Equipment Study. <br /> <br />Mr. Kahan stated that he had just left the <br />annual convention of the Shopping Center <br />Industries in Las Vegas - holding a partners <br />meeting of Louisville Associates, which in- <br />
