He advised Council this site
had been a part of our long range plan-
ning project since the 1960's for our
water system.
Inquired if the City owned the property
at the present time.
Mr. Hobbs stated they, did not, but the City
does have a letter from the owner stating
they would cooperate in the purchase.
Inquired if the purchase of the land
would be made by the developers of the
Centennial Valley Mall.
Mr. Hobbs advised that it would be. It
was part of the overall cost in the
annexation agreement. They are also
paying for the pipeline from Marshall
Lake to the treatment plant and their
development.
Inquired if Community Ditch would be
used at all if the new pipeline went in.
Noel Hobbs stated no andthena::eierred
back to Mr. Persichetti's raaark r~garding
the leachate at Community Ditch, and
to back up Mr. Wurl's statement. At
the time the news release was printed
there was no water in Community Ditch.
There may be water in Community Ditch
above the reservoir, but that is not
where the leachate is. The leachate
problem is between Marshall Lake and
our filter plant site. The problem is
basically that EPA has informed Boulder
County to eliminate the leachate. It
is their problem, definitely not the
City's.
Inquired what was going to feed the
Harper Lake Expansion, the new reservoir
and the gravel pit area.
Hr. Hobbs advised there were 2 options -
one to oversize our pipeline, and two -
a piping arrangment where it would drain
off into our ditch.

COUNCIL COMMENTS
Councilman Fauson

Councilman Carnvial

Councilman Carnival
Leachate Problem

ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION #5
HARSHALL ROAD WATER TREATMENT
FACILITY

Attorney Joss read the resolution in its
entirety.
