SUBJECT: 2008 AUDIT MANAGEMENT LETTER <br />DATE: J U LY 20, 2009 <br />Auditors' Comment: <br />We suggest that the Finance department should develop a process to track developer <br />agreements to ensure proper recording of donated assets when transferred to the City <br />upon completion of capital projects. <br />Management's Response: <br />The Finance Department, with assistance from other departments, will develop a <br />process to track developer agreements. <br />Audit Adjustments <br />Auditors' Comment: <br />We recommend that management communicate more timely with its legal counsel <br />during the year and determine if there are expenses that should be accrued in its <br />financial records in accordance with Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) <br />Statement No. 5, Accounting for Contingencies. <br />Management's Response: <br />Management will request the City Attorney to notify the Finance Department of any <br />legal action or settlement resulting in a contingent liability. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />2008 Audit Management Letter <br />
