Cityof ECONOMIC VITALITY COMMITTEE
Louisville
COLORADO -SINCE 1878
SUBJECT: DISCUSSION/DIRECTION- STRATEGIC PLAN ACTION #2-6:
HOST ANNUAL (OR SEMI-ANNUAL) BUSINESS FORUM TO
GATHER ALL STAKEHOLDERS, REVIEW CITY PRIORITIES,
AND GATHER FEEDBACK
DATE: SEPTEMBER 16, 2022
PRESENTED BY: AUSTIN BROWN, ECONOMIC VITALITY SPECIALIST
SUMMARY:
The Economic Vitality Strategic Plan contains Action #2-6: "Host annual (or semi-
annual) Business Forum to gather all stakeholders, review City priorities, and gather
feedback." This is an ongoing Action.
DISCUSSION:
An annual (or semi-annual) Business Forum is included within the Economic Vitality
Strategic Plan. Staff had an initial discussion with EVC about hosting a fall Business
Forum during the August 19, 2022 EVC meeting. The materials from this meeting are
included as Attachment #1.
At the time of the writing of this memo, the Business Forum is tentatively planned for
Thursday, October 27, 2022. Staff is still in the process of finalizing the speaker and the
location and would like to further discuss additional Forum details. In the event that the
Forum cannot be hosted at Ascent Church, staff will explore other options. Possible
alternatives include:
• The Louisville Rec Center
• 957 Main
• A Louisville primary employer
Based on the feedback received during the last meeting, staff is planning for a theme of
"planting the seed" to continue growing the business community following the pandemic
and the Marshall fire. The forum will consist of networking, light drinks and
refreshments, a keynote speaker, a panel of elected officials and City staff, and booths
for key City departments and business groups.
Once the time and location have been confirmed, staff will send out an eblast promoting
the event. Following the initial event announcement, staff will send out periodic
reminders with an RSVP link. Staff received feedback that several attendees were
cautious about registering for the spring Forum because of the information that it
required. To solve this, staff will allow attendees to RSVP through a customized Google
Form. Staff will use this RSVP information to order food and drinks, and also to create
name tags.
Agenda Packet P. 7
