Minutes - page 3 October 7, 1980 RESOLUTION NO. 33 CONTINUED Councilman DE~lPizzo moved that Resolution No. 33, Series 1980, adopting the 1981 budget be adopted. Seconded by Councilman Fauson. Roll call vote. AYES: Fauson, Domenico, DelPizzo, Meier, Carnival, and Cummings. NOES: None Motion carried 6-0. RESOLUTION NO. 34 TAX LEVY Mayor Caranci asked about the limitations applied by the State. Mr. Wurl stated that he was still trying to find out ~mat happened, but stated that the assessors interpretation is that the value should not have been exempted. He commented that the State permits for new annexed areas or new construction be exempt from the 7% limitation, and last year the property assessed value of STC was exempted when it was annnexed, but they have no way of determining the per- sonal property assessed value until 1 year later, so the City was shorted 4 million in assessed value. Mr. Wurl stated that he has spoken with the Municipal League to get it straightened out, but it 'tV'ill be some time before the matter will be resolved. After discussion Attorney Joss read the Resolution in full. Councilman Meier moved that Resolution No. 34, Series 1980 be adopted. Seconded by Councilman DelPizzo. Motion carried 6-0. AUDIENCE COMMENTS ABE GUITERREZ Abe Guiterrez, 829 W. Linden, stated that he would like to know what the problem is with keeping the water going on Hillsborough West. Mr. Wurl statled that he did not know why the water was off that morning, but would check it out and get back with him. He also noted that the other problems have been corrected. CITY ATTORNEY REPORT ORDINANCE NO. 692 PUBLIC HEARING Attorney Joss read Ordinance No. 692 on second reading by title only, stating that it was Dublished on Sept. 24, 1980, notice of public hearing was published on Sept. 24, 1980 and October 1, 1980.
