<br />Minutes - page 3 <br />October 7, 1980 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 33 <br />CONTINUED <br /> <br />Councilman DE~lPizzo moved that Resolution <br />No. 33, Series 1980, adopting the 1981 <br />budget be adopted. Seconded by Councilman <br />Fauson. Roll call vote. <br />AYES: Fauson, Domenico, DelPizzo, Meier, <br />Carnival, and Cummings. <br />NOES: None Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 34 <br />TAX LEVY <br /> <br />Mayor Caranci asked about the limitations <br />applied by the State. <br />Mr. Wurl stated that he was still trying <br />to find out ~mat happened, but stated that <br />the assessors interpretation is that the <br />value should not have been exempted. <br /> <br />He commented that the State permits for <br />new annexed areas or new construction be <br />exempt from the 7% limitation, and last <br />year the property assessed value of STC <br />was exempted when it was annnexed, but <br />they have no way of determining the per- <br />sonal property assessed value until 1 <br />year later, so the City was shorted 4 <br />million in assessed value. <br />Mr. Wurl stated that he has spoken with the <br />Municipal League to get it straightened <br />out, but it 'tV'ill be some time before the <br />matter will be resolved. <br /> <br />After discussion Attorney Joss read the <br />Resolution in full. <br />Councilman Meier moved that Resolution <br />No. 34, Series 1980 be adopted. Seconded <br />by Councilman DelPizzo. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />AUDIENCE COMMENTS <br />ABE GUITERREZ <br /> <br />Abe Guiterrez, 829 W. Linden, stated that <br />he would like to know what the problem is <br />with keeping the water going on Hillsborough <br />West. <br />Mr. Wurl statled that he did not know why <br />the water was off that morning, but would <br />check it out and get back with him. <br />He also noted that the other problems have <br />been corrected. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY REPORT <br />ORDINANCE NO. 692 <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />Attorney Joss read Ordinance No. 692 on <br />second reading by title only, stating that <br />it was Dublished on Sept. 24, 1980, notice <br />of public hearing was published on Sept. <br />24, 1980 and October 1, 1980. <br />
