Business Matters of Commission 1) Resolution No. 3, Series 2009 - Change of Location for Regularly Scheduled LRC Meetings to Louisville Public Library, 951 Spruce Street - Resolution No. 3, Series 2009 was approved unanimously. 2) Discussion/Direction/Action - Recommendation to City Council on Preferred Option for Louisville FasTracks Rail Station Design Staff presented the options outlined in the March 10, 2009 Memo: Louisville Station Design Options. The options presented were to determine the scope of the environmental clearance that RTD would need to compete for the parking needs of the FasTracks Rail Station. Each option’s Pro/Cons were discussed at length and dissected to enhance the quality of the LRC’s preferred Option recommendation to City Council. Characteristics discussed included parking space needs and numbers, distance from the station, cost factors, use of existing parking at the ball fields via an overpass or underpass, the potential parking impacts west of the station, and how each option changes the “sense of place” and makes a very different statement of who we are as a community. After lengthy discussion, a motion was made to recommend Option 2a to the City Council. The motion was approved by all members present. 3) Discussion/Direction/Action Draft RFP for Design of Underpass/Overpass at Rail Station The LRC discussed the draft RFP for an Underpass/Overpass at the Rail Station and asked staff to expand the scope of the RFP to be called the Short Street Corridor from Main Street to the ball fields, including consideration of an underpass at the Station and an underpass/overpass/at grade crossing at Highway 42. Staff was also asked to revise the draft to make it a request for qualifications rather than an RFP, to strike references construction/engineering drawings, and make other revisions. 4) Next Meeting Items – Short Street Corridor RFQ 5) Next Meeting Date – April 13, 2009 @ 7:30 AM, Louisville Public st Library 1 Floor Conference Room VIII.
