Parks and Public Landscaping Advisory Board
Minutes
June 2, 2022
Focus on what we would like to see. Choose plan that will be good looking in
long run with sustainability improved. Some communities worth looking at for
design ideas include Highlands Ranch and Commerce City and their recent
improvements. There are many options for a clean look and low water
requirements.
RFP going out this month are looking for cost effective solutions and 2 to 3
month time frame for planning and implementation. The last go round
retained blue grass and proposed minimal changes: "Fix up what we had and
move forward." City will select the Landscape Design contractor. Possible
Landscape Design firm visit in August?
Also, unrented commercial properties are showing a lack of maintenance.
These will need to be maintained by owners. "Is there a city ordinance to
require continued maintenance for unrented commercial property?" Dead
trees need to be removed and weeds not allowed. See former Carrabba's
property and former FedEx Property on 104th. City has been silent on
Commercial landscape maintenance issues.
10.
