Minutes - page 2 November 27, 1979 ANGELO'S PIZZA 3.2% BEER LICENSE APPLICATION PUBLIC HEARING CONTINUED Attorney Joss stated that since the applicant had a change of address and the consu~?tion was changed to on pre- mises only, the application would need to be corrected. There were no other comments. Councilman Caranci moved that Angelo's Pizza 3.2% beer license for on premises consumption only be approved. Seconded by Councilman Berry. Motion carried. SAFEWAY 3.2% BEER LICENSE REQUEST - PUBLIC HEARING Mayor Waschak opened the public hearing for Safeway's 3.2% beer license request. Attorney Joss reported that the appli- cation was in order and the proper notices had been posted and published. Mr. Vic Boog, representing Safeway, pre- sented Council with the plans for the sales. Mr. Henry Cominello, Dist. Mgr., gave a brief testimony stating that he has managed stores with the 3.2% beer li- cense and that the beer would be located in the rear of the store and sold only for consumption off premises. Mr. Max Scott of Oedipus explained the petitions favoring the license noting that out of 1,086, 932 signed in favored the licensE:!. With no other comments Mayor Waschak closed the public hearing. Councilman DelPizzo asked Mr. Cominello what the plans were for hiring courtesy clerks. Mr. Cominello stated that applications would be taken at the store and they would try to fill the jobs by people in the City. With no other comments Councilman DelPizzo moved that the Safeway liquor license application for 3.2% beer to be sold for consumption off the premises be approved. Seconded by Councilman DiCarlo. Motion carried.
