LHA & LURA MERGER CONTINUED REAPPORTIONMENT OF WARDS ORDINANCE NO. 656 FIRST READING. *8:05 P.M. ARRIVAL COUNCILMAN DELPIZZO AUDIENCE COMMENTS MARIETTA HAFNER Minutes - page 3 July 3, 1979 Mr. Drumm stated that the procedure for the board, until it reaches 5 members, would be the original LHA board would vote on LHA matter and the LURA matters would be voted on by all members. Councilman Kilker moved that Council approve the LHA & LURA merger. Seconded by Councilman Berry. Mr. Drumm stated he was in favor of the merger and felt both boards could work together, instead of in different directions as in the past. . After comments, Council approved the merger. Mr. Wurl distributed maps to Council for viewing. Mr. Wurl explained the boun- dary lines for each ward stating that there were approximately 703 units Ward III, 712 lJ"ard II and 718 Ward I. All members of Council had before them a copy of Ordinance No. 656 on first read- ing for their review and files. Attorney JOS8 read the Ordinance on first reading by title only. Councilman Meier moved that Ordinance No. 656 be ordered published. Seconded by Councilman Berry. Motion carried. Attorney Joss stated that a public hearing is not necessary and the emergency clause is included because of the deadline which must be met.i.n getting the changes into the Council. Marietta Hafner, 10178 Empire Dr, stated that she was representing her neighbors also of their concern for plans to cut a road to Empire Dr. from Centaur Village. She stated that they would like the City do be aware of their feelings. Mr. Drumm stated that the Louisville staff will be meeting the City of Lafayette staff for a work session on July 5, and also a hearing that evening. Council noted their concerns and asked that the City staff deal with the problem in a way that will be best for the City of Louisville.
