Minutes - page 4 April 17, 1979 FISHING REQUEST CONTID PRESENTATION OF THE PROPOSED LOUISVILLE COMMUNITY CENTER Seconded by Councilman Kilker. Roll call. Kilker yes, DiCarlo yes, Berry no, Meier no, DelPizzo no, Caranci yes. Tie vote Mayor Waschak voted yes to carry the motion denying the fishing request. Parks & Rec. Direc. Stahl gave a brief presentation on the plans and then introduced Dennis Strah and Keith Carney the developers of the plans. Mr. Strah gave a presentation pertaining to the land development and Mr. Carney presented the building plans. Councilman Meier asked about bike paths. Mr. Strah stated that they have not been formally entered into the plan as this time, but would be at a later date. Council commented that they would like to see a large kitchen facility on the first level for banquet type dinners. Councilman DelPizzo stated that he was looking more for a facility for the senior citizen and as an overall pro- ject he like; however, he felt there should be facilities for the seniors and also a large room for a possible community dance or something of that nature which would draw a large crowd. Mr. Stahl commented that they had hoped to make the parks building on Grant the senior citizen recreation area. He also stated that the presentation is for Council to see and make comments and suggestions on and that they would appreciate any suggestions. The financial feasibility was questioned for the construction of the plan. Mr. Stahl reported that the plan will be done in a way, if necessary, to be built in stages. Councilman Kilker stated that he would like to see a kitchen on the main level that would serve approx. 300 people.
