Ellen Goering Day <br /> May 15, 2003 <br /> Whereas, Ellen Goering has demonstrated outstanding educational leadership as <br /> principal of Coal Creek Elementary School, and in the Louisville community, <br /> as well as the Boulder Valley School District; and <br /> Whereas, Ellen Goering successfully met the challenge of opening Coal Creek in 1984: <br /> overseeing the construction of the building, hiring the staff and working with <br /> teachers, parents, and community members to establish the philosophy and <br /> program of the school; and <br /> Whereas, Ellen Goering has created a school environment that celebrates diversity and <br /> provides the opportunity for every child and adult in the learning community to <br /> succeed; and <br /> Whereas, Ellen Goering has established an atmosphere of continuous excellence for the <br /> past nineteen years at Coal Creek; and <br /> Whereas, Ellen Goering has left a lasting imprint on the Louisville community through her <br /> caring and compassionate leadership; and <br /> Whereas, Ellen Goering is retiring from the Boulder Valley School District after thirty <br /> years of service; and <br /> Whereas, the members of the community, students and families are gathering for a <br /> reception and unveiling of a statue at the school in her honor on May 15 from <br /> 3:30-6:00 p.m.; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, Tom Davidson, Mayor of the City of Louisville, Colorado, do hereby <br /> proclaim the 15th day of May, 2003 as <br /> * * * * * Ellen Goering Day * * * * * <br /> Si:ned this 6th day of May, 2003. <br /> ,� Tom Davidson, Mayor <br /> T: 6 t;4 <br /> Nan y Varra, City Clerk <br />
