Minutes - page 3 March 6, 1979 CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT JULY 4TB CELEBRATION HILLS BOROUGH NORTH P ARK NAME CITY HALL EXPANSION Mr. Wurl stated that the Parks & Recreation would like to schedule the July 4th cele- bration with the assistance of the Legion and the Fire Department doing the fire works. Staff stated that they did not anticipate spending any City funds. Councilman DiCarlo moved that the Parks & Rec. Director co~rdinate the activities with the American Legion, Fire Department and Jaycees to fulfill our July 4th obligations. Seconded by Councilman DelPizzo. Motion carried. Mr. Wurl stated that there is a park in the Hillsborough North off of Monarch Ct. which is in the process of being completed and and staff suggests that the park be named the Keith Helart park in honor of Mr. Helart who worked so hard on the Parks & Rec. Committee. Councilman Kilker moved that the park in Hillsoborough North be named the Keith Helart Park. Seconded by Councilman Berry. Motion carried. Mr. Bill Colbern presented preliminary drawings of the City Hall expansion stating that the plans had to be changed due to the soils test. He explained the plans for the outside, the construction will have to be done with other materials to lighten the wall loads on the footing. Councilman DelPizzo stated his objections to the preliminary plans stating that he felt the building could be strengthened the support masonary walls on the second floor. Mr. Colbern stated that the estimated cost of the building is approximately $400,000. Councilman Meier asked about the library layou t . Mr. Colbern stated that there will be an activity room which can be utilized as a reading room.
