<br />Minutes - page 3 <br />March 6, 1979 <br /> <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT <br />JULY 4TB CELEBRATION <br /> <br />HILLS BOROUGH NORTH <br />P ARK NAME <br /> <br />CITY HALL EXPANSION <br /> <br />Mr. Wurl stated that the Parks & Recreation <br />would like to schedule the July 4th cele- <br />bration with the assistance of the Legion <br />and the Fire Department doing the fire <br />works. <br />Staff stated that they did not anticipate <br />spending any City funds. <br />Councilman DiCarlo moved that the Parks & <br />Rec. Director co~rdinate the activities <br />with the American Legion, Fire Department <br />and Jaycees to fulfill our July 4th <br />obligations. Seconded by Councilman <br />DelPizzo. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Wurl stated that there is a park in the <br />Hillsborough North off of Monarch Ct. which <br />is in the process of being completed and <br />and staff suggests that the park be named <br />the Keith Helart park in honor of Mr. <br />Helart who worked so hard on the Parks <br />& Rec. Committee. <br />Councilman Kilker moved that the park in <br />Hillsoborough North be named the Keith <br />Helart Park. Seconded by Councilman <br />Berry. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Colbern presented preliminary <br />drawings of the City Hall expansion stating <br />that the plans had to be changed due to <br />the soils test. <br />He explained the plans for the outside, the <br />construction will have to be done with other <br />materials to lighten the wall loads on the <br />footing. <br />Councilman DelPizzo stated his objections <br />to the preliminary plans stating that he <br />felt the building could be strengthened the <br />support masonary walls on the second floor. <br /> <br />Mr. Colbern stated that the estimated cost <br />of the building is approximately $400,000. <br /> <br />Councilman Meier asked about the library <br />layou t . <br />Mr. Colbern stated that there will be an <br />activity room which can be utilized as a <br />reading room. <br />
