M~nutes - page 3 February 6, 1979 ORDINANCE NO. 635 TAP FEE INCREASE FIRST READING CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT AQUARIUS All members of Council had before them a copy of Ordinance No. 635 for their re- view and files. Attorney Joss read the ordinance on first reading by title only stated that it deals with increase in the water tap fee by $200 and sewer tap fee by $100. Councilman Caranci moved that Ordinance #635 be ordered published. Seconded by Councilman Kilker. Councilman DelPizzo questioned the necessity to increase the fees. Mr. Wurl stated that the increase is necessary. stating that water share costs have in- creased along with pipelines and everything necessary to serve the areas. Councilman Meier stated that as a general interest he would like to leave it as a public hearing. Motion carried 3-2. Councilman Caranci moved that the City Attorney's report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Councilman DiCarlo. Motion carried. Mr. Wurl stated that at a recent work session Aquarius was discussed. Mr. Wurl stated that he would like Council's authorization to continue negotiations with the Aquarius people for acquisition of that property in conjunction with the County. Mr. Wurl stated that there are some points he felt need to be discussed with the Aquarius group. He stated that there is some tax benefit to them in dealing with::the City and County. He Wurl commented on the plat that was submitted when Aquarius requested rezoning and stated that many lots were placed on Empire Road and the grade was not considered, which would probably re- duce the amount of lots on that property and this would lower the value of the pro- perty from the developers viewpoint. Mr. Wurl stated that he would like Council's authorization to approach the Aquarius group with these points. Councilman Caranci moved that the City Administrator be authorized to go along with his ideas on Aquarius. Seconded by Councilman Meier. Motion carried.
