CENTAURUS WARRIORS <br />1998-99 STATE 5A WRESTLING TEAM CHAMPIONS <br />WHEREAS, the 1998-99 Centaurus Warrior Wrestling Team and their coaches have demonstrated the <br />teamwork and drive necessary to produce a successful and winning season; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Warriors and their coach, Craig Walters, were successful in reaching the Level of State <br />5A Wrestling Team Champions with individual Championships by: Joey Carranco, 145 <br />lbs, and Dustin Ortega, 119 lbs, along with the individual championships, Centaurus <br />Warriors also placed five other wrestlers, 2nd place awards went to: Cleveland Holmes, <br />152 lbs, and Phil Hogan, 171 lbs; 5th place award went to Andy Swanson, 1891bs; 6th <br />place award went to Joe Morris, 215 lbs; and 8th place award went to Mario Maestas, 135 <br />lbs; and the following individuals qualified for Level of State 5A wrestling: Jason <br />McClanahan, 125 lbs, Jeff Swanson, 130 lbs, Kyle Swenson, 103 lbs, and Reid Ferrari, <br />160 lbs; and, <br />WHEREAS, this is the fourth championship season in the past eight years; and, <br />WHEREAS, the members of the team and their coaches have helped create a positive image for their <br />school and the citizens of Louisville and Lafayette; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Tom Davidson, Mayor of the City of Louisville, <br />Colorado, along with the City Council and citizens of Louisville, officially acknowledge the outstanding <br />achievements and contributions by the 1998-99 Centaurus Wrestling Team and their coaches and <br />encourage each member of the team to continue their positive athletic and scholastic contributions. <br />DATED this 6th day of April, 1999 <br />Tom Davidson, Mayor <br />Dave Clabots, City Clerk <br />
