NATIONAL DRINKING WATER WEEK <br />WHEREAS, safe drinking water is crucial to our high standard of living; and <br />WHEREAS, proper respect for a limited, precious resources such as water is essential to our <br />way of life; and <br />WHEREAS, health, safety and comfort of this community greatly depends on the supply of <br />water; and <br />WHEREAS, National Drinking Water Week has been established to promote and explain the <br />role of safe water plays in our daily lives; and <br />WHEREAS, an understanding, informed and educated citizenry leads to better utilization of <br />water; and <br />WHEREAS, the quality and effectiveness of water treatment facilities, as well as their <br />planning, design and construction provide our community with safe drinking <br />water on a daily basis; and <br />WHEREAS, conservation is an important part of providing water for future generations; <br />NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that I, Tom Davidson, Mayor of the City of <br />Louisville, Colorado, do hereby proclaim the week of May 18-24, 1997, as "Drinking Water <br />Week" and encourage conservation and environmental responsibility to ensure a source of <br />abundant, safe drinking water for this generation and future generations. <br />Tom Davidson, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Dave Clabots, City Clerk <br />
