NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK <br />April 13 - 19, 1997 <br />WHEREAS, our nation's public, school and academic libraries play a vital role in helping people of all ages connect with <br />books, computers, video tapes and other resources the need to learn and grow; <br />WHEREAS, libraries offer preschool storyhour and programs to help children learn and enjoy reading; <br />WHEREAS, libraries provide access to the information superhighway for all people; and <br />WHEREAS, children and their families view librarians as friends and teachers available to answer questions and guide <br />them; and <br />WHEREAS, library services remain free to every citizen, providing equal opportunity for people of all ages and <br />backgrounds; <br />WHEREAS, libraries nationwide are celebrating National Library Week with the theme "Kids Connect @ the Library;" <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Tom Davidson, Mayor of the City of Louisville, Colorado, do hereby <br />proclaim April 13 - 19, 1997, as National Library Week and encourage all adults to take a child to a library this week and <br />b-lo them connect to a wonderful world of learning, adventure and imagination. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set muy hand and official Seal of Louisville, to be <br />affixed this 1st day of April, 1997. <br />Hono able Tom Davidson, Mayor <br />(SEAL) <br />ATTEST <br />Dave Clabots, City Clerk __ <br />
