row4*v Rasasee4 �m ae sdaeaeft 4 *. eiadw-. <br />PROCLAMATION <br />THE WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD <br />April 1-April 8, 1989 <br />WHEREAS, across the nation, policymakers are reviving a national <br />concern for quality early childhood experiences; and <br />WHEREAS, leaders of the 21st century are currently graduating <br />from early childhood programs, and investing in our children <br />is the most important investment that can be made in our future; and <br />WHEREAS, studies indicate that prevention of high school dropouts, <br />teenage pregnancy and drug abuse can be influenced by the provision <br />of high quality early childhood education and experiences; and <br />WHEREAS, all of society --children, families, employers, communities, <br />and the nation as a whole --benefit from the provision of high quality <br />early childhood services that are affordable for families and <br />provide adequate compensation for caregivers; and <br />WHEREAS, the Boulder Resources for the Education of Young Children, <br />in conjunction with the National Association for the Education of <br />Young Children, is sponsoring the Week of the Young Child, April 1- <br />April 8, 1989; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, WE, the City Council of Louisville, Colorado <br />hereby proclaim April.l.-April 8, 1989 to be <br />THE WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD <br />in the City of Louisville and urge all citizens to participate in <br />the events celebrating this week, to carry symbolic balloons on <br />Wednesday, April 5, National Balloon Day in recognition of the <br />tremendous impact of child care on our society, and to support <br />and encourage all agencies, organizations and individuals serving <br />the well-being of our young children. <br />HENCE, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal to be <br />affixed this j,;!� day of A"944�_ 0 1989. <br />
