Per City Council Meeting Minutes this <br />proclamation was read during the May 7, 1985 <br />Council meeting <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, multiple sclerosis (MS) is an insidious disease affecting the <br />nervous systems of young people in the prime of their lives; and <br />T`HE,FEAS, there are nearly 3,000 people with multiple sclerosis in Colorado <br />which has one of the highest per capita rates of multiple sclerosis <br />of any area in the world; and <br />WHEREAS, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Colorado is committed to the <br />management and cure of the disease, as well as various types of <br />assistance to MS people and their families; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, NORBERT A. MEIER Mayor of <br />LOUISVILLE, COLORADO , by virtue of authority <br />vested in me, do hereby proclaim that May be known as <br />"Multiple Sclerosis Month in MAY if <br />and urge all citizens to become more aquainted with the disease <br />in order to better combat its effects. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the official <br />seal of the CITY OF LOUISVILLE to be affixed this <br />7th DAY OF MAY, 1985 <br />(Date) <br />Norbert A Meier MAYOR <br />
