Per City Council Meeting Minutes this <br />proclamation was read during the October <br />15, 1985 Council meeting <br />PROCLAMATION <br />TAKE A BITE OUT OF HUNGER! DAYS <br />October 16 - 21, 1985 <br />WHEREAS, October 16th is internationally recognized as World <br />Food Day and presents an opportunity for rededicating ourselves <br />to alleviating hunger problems at "home" as well as throughout <br />the world; and <br />WHEREAS, COMMUNITY FOOD SHARE devotes its energies to <br />relieving hunger amongst citizens of Boulder County by collecting <br />surplus food from grocery stores, farms, and corporate donors and <br />distributing this food to non-profit human service agencies; and <br />WHEREAS, World Food Day is an opportunity for all citizens <br />to show their support for Community Food Share's efforts to <br />reduce hunger and waste by participating in Community Food <br />Share's annual week-long event known as TAKE A BITE OUT OF <br />HUNGER!, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, Norbert Meier, Mayor of Louisville, do <br />hereby proclaim October 16-21, 1985 to be TAKE A BITE OUT OF <br />HUNGER! DAYS in Louisville and ask every citizen to join me in <br />supporting their four souplines serving lunch and the many res- <br />taurants donating a portion of proceeds from soup sales to <br />Community Food Share. I also ask that citizens honor Community <br />Food Share for its contributions to Louisville's needy through <br />the non-profit human service agencies it serves. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affix <br />the official seal of the City of Louisville this 15th day <br />of October, 1985. <br />Mayor <br />
