Per City Council Meeting Minutes this proclamation <br />was read during the September 20, 1988 Council <br />meeting <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, air is a community resource which we all share; and <br />WHEREAS, carbon monoxide, produced by automobile emissions and wood <br />burning stoves and fireplaces taints the air we all breathe, is at it's <br />worst during autumn and winter temperature inversions; and <br />WHEREAS, carbon monoxide has adverse effects on the health of the <br />citizens of our City; and <br />SAS, the pollution created by carbon monoxide detracts from making <br />this City an attractive place to live; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville recognizes that as part of the <br />metropolitan Denver area, we are part of the problem; and <br />SAS, we are proud to be part of the solution to this problem. <br />NOM , I, Mayor of the City of Louisville, Colorado, do call <br />upon all citizens of Louisville to participate in the Better Air Canpaign's <br />voluntary restrictions, which include using alternate transportation at <br />least one day a week, cancelling non -essential trips, and eliminating <br />burning wood on high pollution days, <br />AND TES, I now do proclaim the months of November 1988 through <br />January 1989, to be <br />months in LOUISVILLE <br />Dated this 20th day of SEPTEMBER , 1988 <br />Mayor <br />City Clerk <br />
